Adorable arboretum resident

April 3, 2009

I guess the best way to preface this is to say… get ready to say “aww.”

On Thursday I hit the arboretum again, and covered a lot of ground, but didn’t see much besides squirrels and birds. It had been raining most of the day and I almost gave up, thinking that interesting animals wouldn’t be out.

And then there was this:

It makes me laugh. I hope you like it too.

I was also able to make some nice still shots, but I’ll hang onto them for now in case they make it into the layout. Right after I finished today’s shoot and the sun began setting, fog once again rolled into town. I hope the weather clears up soon. I need some better conditions to draw the animals out.

I think I’m a fan of the video camera. Pretty simple to handle and results are adequate for web use. I may have to pick one up some day. Then again, I’m a hardcore gadget guy so whether that’s a good idea is a whole different matter.

I’m hoping to get out to the mountains again soon, but don’t have any definite plans. For those of you that frequent Shenandoah National Park, what are some of your favorite places and why?
